Dolphins to sign several undrafted free agents

The Miami Dolphins had only six draft selections this year — seven if you include the team’s new quarterback, Josh Rosen. Miami had success in their primary objective of adding additional draft capital for 2020, but in doing so they were unable to pick a high number of players.

The Dolphins are hoping to help bridge the gap with a few young talents who didn’t hear their name called throughout the three days of the 2019 NFL Draft. They are:

New Mexico State LB Terrill Hanks

Georgia EDGE Jonathan Ledbetter

Stanford WR Trenton Irwin

Akron CB Kyron Brown

UTEP CB Nik Needham

Colorado State WR Preston Williams

Mississippi State OL Deion Calhoun

The most prominent new Dolphin of this group of pending signings is New Mexico State’s Terrill Hanks, who the Dolphins had hosted on a pre-draft visit. Hanks is a standout from the 2019 Senior Bowl and will push for a role on Miami — most likely to be the backup to starting MIKE Raekwon McMillan.
