CARLSBAD, Calif. _ Dolphins center Mike Pouncey met with a specialist Friday to figure out what's wrong with his surgically repaired left hip.
Pouncey was away from the team as it held its final practice here ahead of Sunday's game against the Rams. Pouncey is dealing with his fourth hip injury since the start of the 2014 season; the team wants to determine the severity before deciding what to do next.
If Pouncey can't play, Anthony Steen would start Sunday. The Dolphins' offensive line is in flux, as left tackle Branden Albert has already been ruled out with a wrist injury. Laremy Tunsil will start in his place, while Kraig Urbik will start at left guard.
The news was better for Mario Williams, however. The defensive end was back at practice Friday after missing the previous two days with an ankle injury. Jelani Jenkins, meanwhile, sat out the session open to reporters with a knee injury.
