Dolphins rookie Christian Wilkins ejected during first quarter of game vs. Bills

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y _ Christian Wilkins had a quick day at the office.

Wilkins, the Miami Dolphins' 2019 first-round pick, was ejected after the second play of Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills for striking an opposing player.

Wilkins struck Bills rookie right tackle Cody Ford with a right hand during Miami's opening defensive series and was quickly flagged for the penalty.

He was replaced in the lineup by newcomer John Jenkins at defensive tackle, leaving the Dolphins without a key rotational player on their defensive line during their second road game of the season.

The ejection adds to the uneventful start of Wilkins' NFL career. In his first five games, Wilkins has five starts and a pass deflection. He has yet to register a sack, tackle for loss or quarterback hit with the Dolphins.

The Dolphins gave up a field goal to the Bills during the opening drive after Wilkins' exit.
