Miami Dolphins linebacker Lawrence Timmons, who was suspended indefinitely on Sept. 19, three days after going AWOL, has been reinstated to the team and will play Sunday against New Orleans in London, according a league source.
Timmons had left the team the day before their 19-17 victory at the Los Angeles Chargers.
Coach Adam Gase was asked about Timmons' status with the team Monday and kept his response brief.
"I don't have an update for you on that," he said.
Gase also declined to comment on a report by CBS' Jason LaCanfora on Sunday that Timmons, the former Pittsburgh linebacker, visited a Steelers practice during the season's opening week, when the Dolphins had their game against Tampa Bay postponed by Hurricane Irma. And Gase declined to comment whether that factored into Timmons' indefinite suspension.
"That's nothing I can really comment on right now," he said.
Gase said executive Mike Tannenbaum had taken over matters relating to Timmons.
Last Wednesday, Gase was asked whether Timmons would have a chance to re-join the team.
"It's going to be something that I'm going to keep in-house and I'll decide on that later" he said.
