Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake will announce Miami’s 3rd-round pick

The NFL’s efforts to make the NFL Draft a bigger fan experience than ever have reached new heights. Having special guests on to announce picks isn’t a new concept for the event, but the league has fully embraced it at part of the production for this year’s event in Nashville.

Not only will Dolphins legend Richmond Webb announce the team’s 2nd-round pick, current Dolphin running back Kenyan Drake will be live in attendance to announce the team’s 3rd-round pick, currently slated at 78 overall.

The poetic part? Drake himself was a 3rd-round pick for the Dolphins, drafted 73rd overall by the Dolphins in 2016. And while Drake’s career hasn’t exploded to the degree that many would have hoped, he’s had some magical moments through his first three years in the league and figures to be in line for that much anticipated breakout season in 2019 under new leadership.

Given the Dolphins’ recent addition of Kalen Ballage (in the 2018 NFL Draft), it’s unlikely that Drake will welcome a new teammate in the running back room in Nashville. No matter who the pick is, it will make for a great first meeting with Drake this summer.
