Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill will miss fourth straight game due to injured shoulder

DAVIE, Fla. _ Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill may have begun some light throwing as he recovers from a sore right shoulder, but he has yet to do so during a team practice.

Tannehill did not throw in Wednesday's practice, and has been ruled out for his fourth straight game.

Brock Osweiler will start for the Dolphins (4-4) in Sunday's Week 9 game against the New York Jets (3-5) at Hard Rock Stadium.

Dolphins coach Adam Gase said Monday that Tannehill has starting throwing footballs to some extent, with the hopes of improving his shoulder strength without having soreness after throwing.

Tannehill injured his shoulder in Week 5 against Cincinnati, and has missed the last three games.

During practice since suffering the injury, Tannehill has lined up behind Osweiler and fellow quarterback David Fales.

Tannehill has handed footballs off to teammates, and stepped through throwing motions, but has not thrown a football.
