Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick sets NFL record in 26-18 win over Jets

The legend of Ryan Fitzpatrick grew just a little larger on Sunday afternoon — and no one seemed to notice. Fitzpatrick’s NFL career has become something of folklore, given his constant travels and nomad status. For all of his longevity, Fitzpatrick has never really been able to dial himself into a team for more than just a few years. Always on the move, always scrapping it up with a youngster for the starting job — and typically winning those battles before moving on to the next challenge.

It’s exactly what we’ve seen here in South Florida this year too — and now, after logging his first win as the starter of the Dolphins, Ryan Fitzpatrick has a little piece of NFL history to go with all of his travels.

With the Dolphins’ 26-18 victory over the New York Jets, no quarterback in NFL history has wins as the starter for as many different teams as Fitzpatrick: seven. Throughout his time in the NFL, Fitzpatrick has been able to accrue wins as the starting quarterback with the Bengals, Bills, Titans, Texans, Jets, Buccaneers and the Dolphins. It’s an impressive laundry list of teams — and given that it is nearly one third of the entire NFL (and accomplished over nearly two decades), it is a record that is difficult to imagine falling, at least any time soon.

Here’s to the man, the myth and the legend that is “Fitzmagic”!
