Dolphins QB Josh Rosen and WR Brice Butler hook up for highlight catch

Some reports out of Miami Dolphins training camp will have you believing that the Dolphins quarterback competition has been a hot mess of an affair. And sure, when two quarterbacks are going head to head, every little thing is going to be inspected with a fine tooth comb — looking for all the little dividers that can differentiate between the contenders.

But with more throws like this one from Dolphins quarterback Josh Rosen, it will be mighty difficult to keep the young passer off the field for the Dolphins.

And credit to wide receiver Brice Butler for his footwork along the sideline, too! Butler is given no guarantees as he tries to forge a spot for himself on Miami’s 53-man roster — if there’s one position on the Dolphins roster where things are overly crowded, it is wide receiver. But if Butler’s hands and body control are half as good as what he flashed on this score from Rosen, not only will Butler be on the team but we may well get a chance to see these two try to re-create this play on Sundays.

The Dolphins are back to work this morning as they kick off their second stretch of four consecutive days with practices at 2019 training camp. Fingers crossed for more highlight reel plays from both Rosen and Butler before the week is over.
