The Miami Dolphins welcomed back their team to Davie for the start of 2020 training camp last week, although this year’s return to action is unlike any other in team history. Amid the ongoing health crisis, the Dolphins and the rest of the NFL have been forced into a slow introduction of activities while undergoing heavy testing and screening to ensure the health and safety of all of those in the building.
The NFL is allotting teams approximately two weeks of strength and conditioning work before the pads go on for practices — and Miami’s offensive and defensive units hit the field this morning to begin the process of ramping up their conditioning. Thankfully for all of us, the Dolphins social media team was there to highlight some of the first looks at Miami’s new-look roster in action.
If you wait long enough for it, you’ll see that the Dolphins’ quarterbacks are the focal point of this look at some basic conditioning — and offers our first look at No. 5 overall pick Tua Tagovailoa sandwiched between veteran QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and fellow young passer Josh Rosen on their trip down the field. Dolphins fans are eager to see a whole bunch of players take the field for Miami for the first time but no anticipation is higher than that of Tagovailoa, who is the fanbase’s hope to return Miami to their former glory of generations past.
There is plenty more to be accomplished before we see any of Miami’s players padded up and flying around the practice field. But today’s first look isn’t a bad first step to getting there.
