The Miami Dolphins are preparing to play Sunday's pivotal game against the Baltimore Ravens without receiver DeVante Parker.
Parker, who suffered a back injury in Sunday 31-24 win over the San Francisco 49ers, sat out his second straight practice, and offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen said the team is preparing for the worst regarding Parker.
That explains why Miami promoted rookie receiver Rashawn Scott, a former UM standout, from the practice squad to serve as Miami's fourth receiver.
Leonte Carroo, the Dolphins' 2016 third-round pick, will likely replace Parker as Miami's starting split end receiver, but Scott will likely play ahead of fellow rookie Jakeem Grant, who works exclusive as a slot receiver and return specialist.
Parker, the Dolphins' 2015 first-round pick, had been battling a hamstring strain most of the season, but became an impact player for the Dolphins in November when he finally got healthy.
Parker caught 16 passes for 246 yards and one touchdown in the past three games, and is second on the team with 41 receptions for 549 yards and two touchdowns.
