Dolphins named Pop Warner Little Scholars’ Team of the Year

Regardless how how things shake out for the Miami Dolphins this season, they’ve already added one piece of hardware to their mantle. The Miami Dolphins were named “Team of the Year” by the Pop Warner Little Scholars, the country’s oldest youth football, cheer and dance organization.

The recognition for the Dolphins comes on the heels of a strong year of contributions to the South Florida community — particularly their work with the youth of the area.

“When thinking about teams that have shown an unwavering commitment to youth football programs, the Dolphins came to mind immediately,” said Jon Butler, Pop Warner Little Scholars’ executive director. “Not only does their Junior Dolphins Program use NFL resources to teach young athletes the fundamentals of football, but it also puts an emphasis on character development…we’re thrilled to have them as our 2019 NFL Team of the Year.”

The Dolphins will accept the award on Saturday, May 25th during the Pop Warner Little Scholars’ annual banquet in Baltimore, Maryland.
