Dolphins’ miracle ending vs. Patriots enters ESPY voting as top seed

Calling all Dolphins fans! The Miami Miracle is up for a 2019 ESPY (Top Play) and let’s be honest with one another for a moment — the Dolphins can use all the wins they can get in 2019. Miami’s historical walk-off win against the eventual Super Bowl champion New England Patriots served as Miami’s final win of 2018, they were embarrassed three straight weeks to fall from 7-6 to 7-9.

The three straight losses took all of the wind out of coach Adam Gase’s sails after the Miami Miracle resuscitated Miami’s playoff hopes in 2019, putting them in position to try to make a run.

The Dolphins, of course, did not make a run. But Miami fans can help make this spectacular play make a run at an ESPY award. As a top seed, the Miami Miracle enters as a favorite to come home with the hardware, but the play has some stiff competition along the way.

Other top seeds for the “Top Play” include Titans RB Derrick Henry’s 99-yard touchdown run vs. Jacksonville and Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard’s Game 7 buzzer beater over Joel Embiid in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

The 2019 ESPY Awards will air on ESPN on Wednesday, July 10th, hosted by comedian Tracy Morgan.
