Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey (hip) and wide receiver DeVante Parker (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, which further clouds the possibility of either playing in Sunday's season opener at Seattle.
Linebacker Jelani Jenkins (knee) and running back Isaiah Pead (hamstring) participated in practice on a limited basis, and defensive end Terrence Fede (knee), defensive tackle Earl Mitchell (calf) and rookie left guard Laremy Tunsil (knee) participated fully.
Pouncey, who would likely be replaced by Anthony Steen, and Parker, who would likely be replaced by rookie Leonte Carroo, haven't practiced all week.
Pouncey, the three-time Pro Bowl selection, is arguably the best player on the offensive line as well as the emotional leader.
Parker provides the big-play ability the offense has lacked for years, but he hasn't been around consistently because of injuries since being drafted in the first round in 2015. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill said not having Parker around on a regular basis affects the chemistry between himself and Parker.
"It's tough," Tannehill said. "You'd like to have the guy on the field. He's a heck of a talent. He's a really good athlete, and we're better with him on the field. We want to get him healthy and get him on the field and keep him there."
