The injury bug continues to pester the Miami Dolphins.
Starting center Daniel Kilgore became the latest Dolphins player to suffer a season-ending injury as an MRI confirmed Monday that he tore a triceps muscle during Sunday's blowout loss to the New England Patriots, according to a league source.
Kilgore, who started the first four games of the season, was acquired last offseason by the Dolphins in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers that allowed the team to release former first-round pick Mike Pouncey.
Now, the Dolphins will likely have to rely on newcomer Travis Swanson to fill in at center and become the second replacement on Miami's starting offensive line this season.
During the season opener against the Tennessee Titans, Dolphins starting left guard Josh Sitton suffered a season-ending shoulder injury, and has been replaced in the lineup by Ted Larsen.
Miami is expecting to be without starting cornerback Bobby McCain (knee) and key contributors defensive end Andre Branch (knee), linebacker Chase Allen (foot) and tight end A.J. Derby (foot) for an extended period of time.
Wide receiver DeVante Parker was inactive against the Patriots, his third inactive game this season, after suffering a quadriceps injury in practice at the end of last week.
Starting safety Reshad Jones, who practiced last week despite a shoulder injury, was inactive for the second consecutive game.
Miami has five players on injured reserve with three players done for the season: Sitton, defensive end William Hayes (ACL) and tight end MarQueis Gray (Achilles). Linebacker Mike Hull (knee) and center Jake Brendel (calf) could possibly return this year after sitting out the first eight weeks of the season.
