Dolphins legend Richmond Webb will announce Miami’s 2nd round pick

With the 9th pick in the 1990 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins selected offensive tackle Richmond Webb from Texas A&M. 29 years, 163 starts, seven Pro Bowls and two All-Pro honors later, it is Webb’s turn to return the favor for Miami.

The NFL released a list of 64 current and former players who would be tasked with helping announce picks on Day 2 of this year’s NFL Draft in Nashville. And Webb, who spent the majority of his career protecting the blindside of Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino, will be announcing Miami’s 2nd-round pick, currently slated at #48 overall.

With Laremy Tunsil in place for the Dolphins, Miami isn’t likely to draft a blindside protector at 48, but there’s a very strong chance the team could be picking a new offensive lineman, given their current lack of talent up front and the available crop of blockers in the 2019 class.

How fitting would be it for Webb to help usher in a new era of quality offensive line play in Miami by welcoming him to the team on Friday, April 26th? The 2019 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 25th and concludes on Saturday, April 27th.

The Dolphins currently own 7 selections (13, 48, 79, 117, 152, 235, 236).
