Dolphins legend Jason Taylor is one of the greatest pass rushers to ever play the game. But if he had his choice, he’ll want to be remembered for something else — being an even greater dad.
The Jason Taylor Foundation shared a beautiful clip from Taylor’s Hall of Fame induction speech as a means of wishing all fathers out there a happy Father’s Day today. In the clip, Taylor becomes overwhelmed with emotion speaking about his own upbringing and how it’s helped him to appreciate the significance of fatherhood.
“No level of success in any walk of life means anything if you aren’t taking care of what is important first,” said Taylor. “I never had a father. There’s no bigger honor, no bigger blessing and there’s no great job in this world than being a father.”
After being doubted for most of his football playing career, Taylor went on to be one of the greats — he was a first ballot Hall of Fame inductee. We certainly aren’t going to doubt his capacity to outdo his play on the field with his role as a father!
