Dolphins legend Jason Taylor fed up with new roughing penalties

The expectations for NFL pass rushers are pretty tough these days — but for reasons different than what past generations of sack artists have had to deal with. These days, pass rushers get the big bucks for constantly getting home and disrupting the opposition — but they’re required to do so without hitting quarterbacks too high or too low, too hard or without driving them into the ground.

That’s a lot to take inventory of when one is in the heat of the battle. Last night’s contest between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans provided a perfect example — one so bad that it got Miami Dolphins Hall of Famer Jason Taylor calling out the absurd nature of the penalties.

Taylor and fellow former pass rusher Justin Tuck having a problem with the roughing call is one thing, but you know it’s bad when Dolphins nemesis Tom Brady himself speaks out to call the penalties ridiculous.

You be the judge. Here’s the roughing the passer penalty leveed against the Tennessee Titans last night. Foul or no foul?
