Miami Dolphins middle linebacker Kiko Alonso underwent surgery to repair his broken right thumb on Monday, Dolphins coach Adam Gase said.
Gase said Alonso's status for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals at Hard Rock Stadium is uncertain. He would likely be replaced by Mike Hull.
Alonso suffered the injury during the third quarter of Sunday's 38-6 loss at Baltimore, but returned with a cast/supportive device on his right hand.
Alonso, who leads the Dolphins with 59 tackles and four fumble recoveries, also has been bothered by a sore hamstring.
The Dolphins (7-5) had their six-game winning streak snapped against the Ravens, and likely will need at least a 3-1 finish to make their first playoff appearance since 2008.
