Miami Dolphins linebacker Jerome Baker and the rest of Miami’s defense provided a stout performance on Sunday afternoon against the New York Jets. The team was tough, relentless and ultimately resilient. Persistent would be another good adjective — especially for Baker.
And we’re not just talking about his pursuit of the ball carrier, either. Baker was relentless on Sunday looking for his mom in the stands — and the results are hilarious. Baker wore a microphone during Sunday’s 26-18 victory over the Jets and Baker, while leading Miami’s defense, also had another objective in mind.
Finding where ‘mama’ was sitting:
Casual fans probably don’t realize the amount of down time between possessions and commercial breaks that can exist for these players — they’re able to make split decisions in the blink of an eye and process formations and plays and combinations. So for a three minute break to be dropped into the middle of a game, the players have to inevitably think about something. And when Baker wasn’t keying the Jets offense, he was on a one track mind — and we’re all thankful for the wholesome content he’s provided us as a result.
Baker found ‘mama’, the Dolphins defense found some stops, Ryan Fitzpatrick and company found the end zone and the Dolphins found a win. That’s about as close as possible to an all-around win that you’ll find on Sunday, including Baker’s frantic search for mom in the stands coming to a happy ending.
