Dolphins in attendance to scout last night’s college football kickoff

The in-state rivalry between the Miami Hurricanes and the Florida Gators hasn’t been as heated in recent years, mostly because the two schools haven’t played for over half a decade. But the Gators and Canes met last night in Orlando and the Dolphins had at least one representative in the building to scout all of the action.

The presence of a scout at a college game isn’t necessarily a shoo-in for dots to connect, but with two teams in such close proximity it makes sense that Miami will be doing a lot of extra homework.

The Gators’ ferocious pass rush likely caught the Dolphins’ attention as well — they logged a whopping 10 sacks against the Hurricanes. With the Dolphins’ depth on the outside lacking, you can be sure the team’s rep wrote down the names of pass rushers Jabari Zuniga and Jonathan Greenard.

The Dolphins’ scouting efforts will pick up significantly next weekend as the college football slate opens up in totality — the schedule features games every day between Thursday and Monday on the college level.
