Dolphins host “Touchdown for Life Blood Drive” at Hard Rock Stadium

The Miami Dolphins organization partnered with One Blood to host the “Touchdown for Life Blood Drive” yesterday at Hard Rock Stadium — an event that means much more to the Dolphins after the tragic accident involving defensive lineman Kendrick Norton earlier this month.

The accident, which cost Norton his left arm below the elbow, nearly cost him much more — his life. Norton credited blood donations as a critical factor in saving his life in the days after the crash and, now that he’s out of the hospital, he’s wasting no time helping bring awareness to the cause. Norton was present for the event, along with several other familiar faces — including former Dolphins receiver O.J. McDuffie and new Dolphins head coach Brian Flores. Flores not only stopped in to show support, he also contributed to the cause.

With Dolphins training camp kicking off this week — and rookies reporting today — it is back to business in South Florida. But not before helping the Dolphins’ efforts off the field. Credit where credit is due, Flores continues to walk the walk as an enviable presence in the community.

Now, let’s see how well he can coach!
