Dolphins first-round pick falls again after 49ers’ win on Sunday

The Miami Dolphins season has come to a close, so fans and the organization are preparing for the next steps to make this team better.

For many, the NFL draft is the top thing on the mind. Miami traded their first-round pick in 2022 to move up and select wide receiver Jaylen Waddle last year, but they have the San Francisco 49ers’ pick from moving back originally.

Miami’s pick, which belongs to the Philadelphia Eagles, has been solidified at 15th overall. Because the 49ers have continued to win in the postseason, that pick hasn’t been finalized yet.

If the 49ers had lost in the first round, the pick would’ve been 22nd overall.

Now, if San Francisco were to lose in the divisional round to the Green Bay Packers, that draft pick would be either 25th or 26th. The final spot would depend on who else advances, as draft position for playoff teams eliminated in the same round is determined by the team’s regular season record.
