Dolphins finalizing trade to send DE Robert Quinn to Dallas

The long wait appears to be over. After having defensive end Robert Quinn spend the better part of two weeks flirting with NFC contenders in an effort to drum up his trade interest, the Miami Dolphins are finalizing a deal to send the veteran pass rusher to Dallas.

Quinn, who is negotiating a new 1-year contract as part of the trade, brings much needed pass rush help to the Cowboys for 2019. Meanwhile, the Dolphins add yet another draft selection to their growing pool of picks. It is currently unknown what return the Dolphins are getting for Quinn, but the originally stated asking price was a 2020 mid-round pick.

Did the Dolphins cave to get Quinn off the books? We’ll know once the details of this deal are finalized and revealed. For now, it’s another win for the Dolphins, offloading a monster contract for a player that isn’t a part of their long-term plans while managing to scrap out even the slightest compensation in return.

Ian Rapoport has reported that the Dolphins are getting a “future late-round pick” for Quinn’s services.
