Dolphins finalize 2019 practice squad roster

The Miami Dolphins exited their initial wave of cuts with half of their 2019 practice squad roster accounted for. Miami had locked in DT Gerald Willis, QB Jake Rudock, CB Nik Needham, DE Dewayne Hendrix and LB Christian Sam to the practice squad with their initial additions to the roster  but we now have the rest of Miami’s young, developmental group officially set.

The Dolphins’ additions to the 2019 practice squad yesterday include:

  • WR Isaiah Ford
  • LB Terrill Hanks
  • DB Montre Hartage
  • TE Chris Myarick
  • OT Zach Sterup
  • OL/DL Durval Neto

Neto serves as Miami’s special 11th practice squad player — the Dolphins and the rest of the AFC East have been granted an extra spot on the practice squad to help build international talent into the league.

Hanks, Hartage, Myarick and Sterup were all a part of Miami’s cuts on Sunday after the Dolphins landed five waiver wire claims — it’s good to see the Dolphins intent on retaining these players, who they clearly liked, and try to invest in their young talent. Hartage, Ford and Myarick were all strong contributors for the Dolphins this preseason and showed up big in games and practice alike — there may be something there worth pursuing.
