Report: Dolphins doing homework on recently released Robert Nkemdiche

The Arizona Cardinals have moved on from defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche, releasing him on Saturday evening. He cleared waivers and now is a free agent.

While he has not yet signed anywhere, teams have begun to look into him. One team is the Miami Dolphins, according to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson.

Miami has reportedly made initial calls on Nkemdiche, a former first-round pick.

The Dolphins acquired Arizona’s 2018 first-round pick, quarterback Josh Rosen, during the draft in April.

Nkemdiche is coming off a torn ACL suffered in December. He could be ready to go as early as September. Of course, that could be pushed back, considering he showed up to training camp with the Cardinals out of shape. The official move to release Nkemdiche was with a failed physical designation.

Once he is healthy again, he surely will garner more attention, despite the issues he had with the Cardinals over three years.
