Dolphins DL Davon Godchaux ready to get back to work

The rough start to the 2019 season for the Miami Dolphins has brought out a lot of frustrations from a lot of people. The Dolphins saw that come to a head with cornerback Xavien Howard during yesterday’s 31-6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, with Howard being ejected late in Miami’s loss after giving up a handful of big catches to wide receiver Amari Cooper.

The expectations also seemed to be a significant factor in defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick’s lack of desire to stay in Miami, too. But one player not ready to back down in the face of Miami’s rebuilding year?

Defensive tackle Davon Godchaux.

Godchaux, who played well against the Cowboys, took to social media with a positive message about how he’s choosing to handle Miami’s latest loss.

It’s a great testament to the passion for football and type of personality Godchaux brings to Miami’s locker room — and something the Dolphins clearly crave in their players. There’s a lot of work to be done, but having players like Godchaux who are ready to dig in and see where they can get better helps that corrective process.

While Miami’s offense left a lot on the field yesterday, the defense played admirably for much of the game — with Godchaux playing a prominent part up front. The Dolphins’ defensive line will have a less daunting task next week against a softer Chargers line — so look for Godchaux and his positive mindset to show out as a result.
