Dolphins currently two touchdown underdogs vs. Steelers

The Miami Dolphins may be showing progress each week but you’ll have a hard time seeing progress in the sports books — the Dolphins continue to serve as multi-score underdogs and are double digit dogs for the fifth time in seven games this season.

The latest line? Miami travels to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers and is currently being given 14.5 points according to BetMGM.

The good news for Dolphins fans? The Dolphins have covered the spread in each of the last two weeks — they lost to Washington by a single point before dropping their Week 7 contest against the Buffalo Bills by a final score of 31-21. Will another victory against the spread heal the hurt of another loss, should Miami drop a close game? Not for anyone in Miami’s locker room — as near misses have fueled frustrations in players like safety Bobby McCain.

The bad news for Dolphins fans? Miami traditionally does not perform well in primetime, and this game is the only show in town as Monday Night Football’s featured contest. Miami’s record in primetime games since 2006? A paltry 7-19. With that in mind, a straight Dolphins victory feels like a long-shot. But if Miami were ever to steal a game, getting a victory over Pittsburgh would be a strong boost to Miami’s draft aspirations — as the Dolphins own Pittsburgh’s 1st-round pick in 2020 thanks to the Minkah Fitzpatrick deal.
