Dolphins claimed Calvin Munson off of waivers from the Patriots

After bringing in running back Lamar Miller for a workout early in the week, the Miami Dolphins have decided to bring in another old friend.

On Wednesday, the Dolphins were awarded linebacker Calvin Munson off of waivers from the New England Patriots. Munson had been on Miami’s practice squad until late October when the Patriots signed him to their active roster.

Munson went undrafted in 2017 out of San Diego State and signed with the New York Giants where he played 14 games in his rookie season. He spent most of 2018 and 2019 with the Patriots before being signed off their practice squad by Miami. He appeared in 16 games with the Dolphins between 2019 and 2020.

This doesn’t seem to be an indication of any injury or potential COVID-19 news. It just appears that Brian Flores and company like this player, as they’ve targeted him twice now. Munson can be a solid special teamer if nothing more.
