Dolphins CB Ken Webster doesn’t travel with team for Week 12

The Miami Dolphins are just hours away from taking the field and doing battle with the Cleveland Browns in Week 12. When the Dolphins’ defense takes the field this week, the team will be severely undermanned in the secondary. Miami lost safeties Bobby McCain and Reshad Jones this past week to injured reserve, where they join Xavien Howard in waiting for the end of the season before looking to rehab.

At least one more Dolphin will be missing from the secondary as well — cornerback Ken Webster did not travel with the team to Cleveland due to an ankle injury.

With the Dolphins having to worry about wide receivers Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. today, all hands on deck certainly would have been helpful to stave off the Browns’ air attack, led by second-year quarterback Baker Mayfield. Now, Mayfield and company should be quite aggressive through the air and it will come onto Miami’s pass rush to mask the lingering issues in the secondary for the Dolphins.

Webster isn’t the caliber of player who would have been able to put either Landry or Beckham on lockdown, but he’s a promising youngster who certainly could’ve used the reps against some of the best receivers the NFL has to offer.

Miami kicks off Week 12 against the Browns at 1PM EST today at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland.
