DAVIE, Fla. _ The Miami Dolphins say wide receiver Kenny Stills was aware of the team choosing to blast a playlist exclusively of Jay-Z songs during the start of Tuesday's practice, one day after Stills challenged the rapper's recent partnership with the NFL.
Whether it was a joke or coincidence, the Dolphins played nine Jay-Z songs in total, with the person in charge of the practice playlist skipping the sixth and eighth songs in the mix.
A Dolphins spokesperson said new coach Brian Flores picks the music, and Stills was aware about the music before practice.
The playlist was not intended to challenge Stills' stance on Jay-Z's NFL deal or undermine Stills' consistent efforts to raise awareness about issues like social inequality and racial injustices.
Stills was not interviewed by the media in the locker room following Tuesday's practice.
