Dolphins assistant coach Josh Grizzard joins Buccaneers staff

During this period of the NFL calendar, there isn’t much happening as far as player movement, but coaching staffs are being set around the league with teams making their hirings.

The Miami Dolphins lost one of their coaches on Thursday, as quality control coach Josh Grizzard joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coaching staff, according to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson.

Grizzard, 33, joined the Dolphins back in 2017 as a quality control coach following his time with Yale and Duke. He held that position for three years before becoming the team’s wide receivers coach for the final two seasons of Brian Flores’ tenure in Miami (2020-21).

When Mike McDaniel arrived in South Florida and brought Wes Welker with him, Grizzard moved back to quality control for 2022-23.

Now, he’ll have the opportunity to take on a larger role with the Buccaneers as their pass-game coordinator.

Grizzard joins a long list of assistant coaches who will not return in Miami following their second wild-card loss in two years under McDaniel’s control.
