Dolphins are huge underdogs against Patriots and spread keeps getting bigger

To say the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots are two teams heading in opposite directions is a colossal understatement. Vegas oddsmakers have been quick to reflect the eye-opening disparity.

The reigning Super Bowl champion Patriots opened as 14 {-point favorites against the dismal Dolphins for Sunday's game at Hard Rock Stadium, but the betting line quickly widened after New England routed the Pittsburgh Steelers, 33-3, on Sunday night.

According to Sportsbook Review's consensus odds, New England is currently 18 {-point favorites and is expected to be favored by an even wider margin as the 1 p.m. kickoff approaches.

The Dolphins, who are coached by Patriots former defensive coordinator Brian Flores, look like they're headed for a winless season after getting blown out, 59-10, by the Baltimore Ravens in Sunday's opener. It was the most lopsided regular-season loss in team history.

Meanwhile, New England, which kept rolling along as 42-year-old Tom Brady threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns against Pittsburgh, welcomes star receiver Antonio Brown, who is expected to make his season debut Sunday against the Dolphins.

The Dolphins, who opened the season having the worst odds by far to win the Super Bowl at 500-1, are now being given 10,000-1 odds, according to the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.
