Dolphins are 3.5-point underdogs in Week 15 vs. Giants

The Miami Dolphins fell at MetLife Stadium in heartbreaking fashion in Week 14, eclipsing their 2018 season total for losses along the way with three more games left to play. The good news for the Dolphins? Miami is going to get yet another chance at a win at MetLife this season — the Dolphins will be back yet again this week to play the New York Giants.

The Giants are fresh off a heartbreaking defeat of their own at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, falling to 2-11 on a lost season and continuing to pace the field for the 2nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Dolphins will face the Giants with longtime quarterback Eli Manning under center, as Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a high ankle sprain earlier in the month and is expected to miss the game.

Despite Miami owning a better record and generally playing better football at this point in time, the Giants are still favored by the sports books in this contest. Miami is currently listed as 3.5-point underdogs for Week 15, according to BetMGM.

This contest is going to serve as a critical swing point for Miami in their race for draft positioning. There are beneficial outcomes to either a Dolphins win or loss, which will afford the team plenty of flexibility in their search for optimism as the season comes to a close. With a Dolphins win, the Giants continue in hot pursuit of the Bengals and could potentially become a trade up partner in the right scenario. With a Dolphins loss, the Giants are poised to leap over Miami in the current draft order.

One thing is for sure, Brian Flores will be gunning to win. The question is simply whether or not the Dolphins are healthy enough to move the ball.
