Dolphins among 10 teams to interview Kyler Murray at Combine

Miami’s search for an heir to Ryan Tannehill wages onward. The quarterbacks have already vacated the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, but the dust is still settling.

One bit of news that came out this morning stems from Peter King’s Football Morning In American column.

Inside, King reveals that Kyler Murray met and interviewed with ten teams this weekend at the event.

Prior information revealed to us included that the Dolphins were a team meeting with Kyler Murray, so the Dolphins are among the ten interested franchises.

Here’s the problem: the demand for Murray continues to rise, part thanks to the scarcity of potential quarterback prospects in this year’s draft and via free agency.

The latest rumors? Murray would be in play with the #1 overall pick and (depending on what happens with Cardinals QB Josh Rosen) could be selected there by either Arizona or another team via trade.

Is that a cost Miami wants to pay? Almost assuredly not. So while the Dolphins deserve credit for doing their due diligence and getting to know Murray in the event of a slide on Draft night, it doesn’t sound like a feasible option for the team unless they want to significantly compromise their future draft capital to do so.
