Dolphins add offensive lineman Chris Reed

Finally, an addition to the Miami Dolphins interior offensive line! The Dolphins announced yesterday that they have signed veteran lineman Chris Reed to a contract. Reed, who has played in Jacksonville since entering the league in 2015 and has started eight games, will provide depth and competition for a unit looking to remodel a poor reputation.

Reed was an undrafted free agent of of small school Minnesota State, but after a year of grooming on the Jaguars’ practice squad he’s been an intermittent piece of the puzzle for Jacksonville.

Here in Miami, Reed will be reunited with offensive line coach Pat Flaherty, who coached him for each of the last two seasons.

Miami’s offensive line is going to look very different in 2019. As the Dolphins look to build their team as a whole, the line of scrimmage is likely to be a priority, based on what we’ve seen from the inspiration for this rebuild, the New England Patriots.

Continued work to address the line should be expected and ideally, it is one of the position groups we will see settle into place first.
