Dolphins acquire QB Josh Rosen from Cardinals for pair of draft picks

The Arizona Cardinals have resolved their quarterback situation, trading 2018 starter Josh Rosen to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for pick No. 62 in this year’s draft and a fifth-round selection next year.

The Cardinals used the 62nd pick to select Massachusetts wide receiver Andy Isabella.

The Cardinals were expected to deal Rosen as soon as they used the first overall pick Thursday to select dynamic quarterback Kyler Murray, who becomes Arizona’s presumed starter.

Rosen’s tenure in Arizona was brief. After getting selected No. 10 overall in 2018, the former UCLA quarterback went 3-10 with a disappointing 11 touchdown passes to 14 interceptions.

After hiring Kliff Kingsbury as head coach in the offseason, Arizona decided to start over at quarterback as well, leaving Rosen on the outside looking in. He will now head to a Miami team that was in need of a quarterback.

Meanwhile, Arizona will begin the Murray era. He and the Cardinals will square off against the Seahawks twice next season, giving the 12s a chance to see the QB who has often been compared to Russell Wilson.
