Dolphin pod swim alongside Waverley paddle steamer in video captured by crew

We never get bored of the incredible sights Scotland produces and especially when they feature dolphins.

Lucky guests on the Paddle Steamer Waverley were treated to a special performance by a pod of dolphins that swam alongside the boat much to the delight of those on board.

Dolphin sightings are a common feature of trips on the Waverley but the incredible weekend made this sighting, especially exciting thanks to clear skies and blue water.

Crew member James Ross shared incredible photos and videos of the sight on his social media.

He said: "What a fantastic day for today's cruise, dolphin's putting a show while we waited at Largs, later treated to a fly past by the Coastguard helicopter and escorted for a little while by the Sail Training vessle 'Royalist' as we passed Rothesay Bay."
