Dolly Parton says every day is 'Hot Girl Summer' for husband as she recreates iconic Playboy cover

Dolly Parton teased that everyday is 'Hot Girl Summer' for her husband as she recreated her iconic Playboy cover for his birthday.

The country music superstar, 75, turned back time as she slipped into a Playboy bunny suit and ears as a present to Carl Dean, whom she married in 1966.

The legendary country singer said her husband has always loved the original cover from 1978, and vowed last year that she would grace the pages again when she turned 75.

But as Playboy printed its last physical edition in 2020, Dolly didn't let that stop her from becoming a bunny once again, as she improvised with her own homemade version.

In a video shared with her 4.3 million Instagram followers, the Jolene hitmaker said: "Today is July 20. It's my husband Carl's birthday and you're probably wondering why I'm dressed like this.

"Well it is for my husband's birthday.

“Remember some time back I said I was going to pose on Playboy magazine when I’m 75?

“Well, I’m 75 and they don’t have a magazine anymore, but my husband always loved the original cover of Playboy.

“So I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy. He still thinks I’m a hot chick after 57 years and I’m not going to try to talk him out of that.”

The singer sat for a photoshoot and had a new cover made to go alongside the original one.

Comparing the two, she said: “I was kind of a little butterball in that one, well I’m string cheese now. But he’ll probably think I’m cream cheese – I hope!”

Parton also shared a snap of her surprising Dean with the gift in a rare glimpse into their private marriage, but kept his face covered.

She captioned the post: “It’s always #HotGirlSummer for my husband, Carl.

“Happy birthday my love!”

Just before the last edition of the Playboy magazine landed last year, Dolly told 60 Minutes Australia of her plans to grace the cover again.

She said: "Well, I don't plan to retire. I just turned 74 and I plan to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again.

"See, I did Playboy magazine years ago. I thought it would be such a hoot, if they'll go for it – I don't know if they will – if I could be on the cover again when I'm 75."
