Dolly Parton 'only uses faxes to stay in touch' god-daughter Miley Cyrus says

Country music legend Dolly Parton is still working nine to five – sending FAX messages to her family and friends.

She loves firing off missives on the dated office machine from her home in Tennessee, says her pop star god-daughter Miley Cyrus.

And scolded Miley says Dolly, 74, even delivers tickings-off via the device, which uses a phone dial-up connection to send notes.

Los Angeles-based Miley, 27, says: “I have not been seeing her much lately because I had got so busy right before 2020.

“I was touring and doing a lot of festivals and one of the spanks she gave me was ‘We did not need a pandemic to keep us apart.

"You have not come to see me anyway’. I was like ‘Ouch’. She was saying I had not been spending enough time with her.

“She only faxes, by the way. You know when someone goes in on you in a text, that is one thing. You can just delete it and move on. She will send it in writing, on paper.”

But there are never any hard feelings and Wrecking Ball star Miley hails Dolly as “a role model in every way.”

She adds: “The kindness outshines the talent times a trillion.

“Her kindness is just what has gotten her to be loved by all.”

Faxes were a familiar office tool in the 1980s and ’90s but were largely replaced by email.

They are used in parts of the NHS – and, oddly, for many big football transfer deals.
