Dolly Parton gives a glimpse of husband Carl as she recreates 1978 Playboy shoot – and fans love it

Dolly Parton announces she has recreated her vintage ‘Playboy’ cover at 75

Dolly Parton has given fans a rare glimpse of her husband while sharing the surprise she did for his 79th birthday.

The country music star recreated her Playboy photoshoot from 1978 which Dolly says her husband Carl Dean has always been fond of.

Dolly dressed up in a Playboy bunny suit complete with the famous ears as a present to Carl, who she married in 1966.

As the magazine is no longer being printed, the 75-year-old had to get creative and produced a homemade version instead.

In an Instagram video shared to her 4.2m followers, Dolly said: “Remember some time back I said I was going to pose on Playboy magazine when I’m 75? Well, I’m 75 and they don’t have a magazine anymore, but my husband always loved the original cover of Playboy.

“So I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy. He still thinks I’m a hot chick after 57 years and I’m not going to try to talk him out of that.”

The Jolene singer then holds up a picture frame with the 1978 shoot and her recent shoot together.

Comparing the two, she said: “I was kind of a little butterball in that one, well I’m string cheese now. But he’ll probably think I’m cream cheese – I hope!”

She captioned the post: “It’s always #HotGirlSummer for my husband, Carl.

“Happy birthday my love!”

Fans were excited to also catch a glimpse of Carl in a photo as Dolly presented him with his surprise.

Though the image only showed the back of his head – unsurprising, considering the fact the pair have kept their marriage private over the past 55 years.

People shared their love for Dolly and Carl on Twitter.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who has a song called Hot Girl Summer, retweeted Dolly’s video and wrote: “hot girl dolly” with a few eye-heart emojis.

One person shared a rare photo of the married couple when they were younger where Carl’s face is not hidden.

While others commented on how amazing Dolly looks at the age of 75.

As proven once again, clearly Dolly can do no wrong.
