Dolly Parton Delays Vegas Shows Until 2026 to Focus on Health and Ensure Fans Get the Best Performance

Dolly Parton has decided to put her Las Vegas shows on hold while she focuses on her health. The 79-year-old country icon announced on September 28 that her December 2025 concerts will be postponed until September 2026, following advice from doctors who recommended she undergo some medical procedures.

Sharing the news with her fans on Instagram, Parton explained she’s been facing health challenges and joked, “It must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!” She went on to say that, because of the treatment, she wouldn’t have enough time to prepare the kind of show she wants to give her audience.

“In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” she wrote.

“You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say”, reported BBC.

Despite the setback, Parton reassured her fans that she’s not retiring.

“Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she said, adding that she believes He’s simply telling her to slow down for now. “But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”

Parton didn’t go into specifics about the medical procedures, but earlier in September, she revealed that a kidney stone had kept her from attending a Dollywood event. In a video posted on September 17, she shared that the stone caused an infection, and her doctor advised her to rest.

“You don’t need to be traveling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better,” she recalled being told.

For now, Parton is focusing on healing and promises that when she returns to the Las Vegas stage, she’ll be fully ready to give her fans the performance they deserve.
