After all, these are some of the big names in retail that have the lowest prices, but which has the best value for the items you are trying to check off your list? GOBankingRates did some digging to find out.

Fall Decor

  • Best Value: Dollar Tree for $1.50

Specifically, pumpkins decorations, the ultimate symbol of a festive fall. Target has a three-count pack of Fall Glass Pumpkins for $25 while Walmart has individual Natural Bamboo Woven Pumpkins on sale for $9.86 each, which ultimately cannot beat Pumpkin-Shaped Porcelain Decor for $1.50 a piece from Dollar Tree.

Autumn Candles

  • Best Value: Dollar Tree for $1.25

When you want your house to spell like fall inside, you need to light a candle that has all the scents of the season. Yankee candles are on sale at Target with the 20-ounce Signature Glass Tumbler Iced Berry Lemonade Candle for $34.99 and Walmart with the 22-ounce Spiced Pumpkin Original Large Jar Scented Candle for $21.48. Still, Dollar Tree comes in with the best value on the Assorted Harvest-Themed Frosted Jar Candles with Wood Lid which are only 3 ounces and $1.25 each, plus come in four different scents and colors.

Dish Towels

  • Best Value: Dollar Tree for $1.50

Baking up a storm in the kitchen this fall? Messes are sure to happen, but you can have a decorative fall towel hanging and waiting to clean it up. Target has the Split P Fall Dish Towel set for $14.30, Walmart has the Yibaga Fall Kitchen Towel set for $13.98 and Dollar Tree scores with the Home Collection Microfiber Kitchen Towel for $1.50 each with two different fun fall patterns.

Soup

  • Best Value: Walmart for $1.24

Fall is when the weather takes a turn and so can your health. Sick days are no fun, but you need to be prepared for when they happen with a cupboard full of easy, nourishing meals like soup. Dollar Tree has a 13.8-ounce can of Campbell’s Condensed Chicken Noodle Soup for $1.25 each beating out Target’s offering of a 10.75-ounce can of Campbell’s Condensed Chicken Noodle Soup for $1.29 a piece, but the winner is the 10.75-ounce Campbell’s Condensed Chicken Noodle Soup at Walmart for $1.24 a can.

Lotion

  • Best Value: Dollar Tree for $1.25

The dryness of fall can hit your skin hard, which is why you’ll want to be prepared with enough lotion to keep your hands, fingers and other body parts hydrated. Target offers a three pack of 8-ounce bottles of Dermasil Body Lotion for $9.97 and Walmart offers a two pack of 8-ounce bottles of Dermasil Body Lotion for $9.99. While Dollar Tree does not sell the same product in bundles, it does offer an individual 8-ounce bottle of Dermasil Body Lotion for $1.25 each, making it the best value for your dollar as the leaves fall off the trees this year.
