Dancing On Ice judge Ashley Banjo warned Sonny Jay that Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean were "out to get him" after their tough critique on Sunday night's final, with fans branding Jayne "harsh".
John Barrowman even booed Jayne while she gave her thoughts to Sonny and his partner Angela Egan, and accused her of being too hard on them.
Scoring the pair a ten, John told them: "You were skating like a pro out there, this partnership I loved watching, you took the props on board, you are doing some difficult stuff out there, but throughout it was characterisation, characterisation, characterisation.
"And you brought your own personality to it by playing the ukelele, so it was a definite Sonny delight, and a ten!"
But Jayne only awarded them 9.5, and said: "No I loved it and I know how - ", but John jeered as host Holly Willoughby remarked: "Awkward..."
Jayne continued: "I know how difficult some of those moves are and I thought you executed them really well, I just would've liked a tiny bit more character."
John argued: "It was oozing character! Shade!"
Ashley said: "I thought that was a little bit crazy, I feel like Jayne and Chris are out to get you!"
He added: "I can't believe how good you have got!"
Holly then reiterated that the judges' comments and marks are only for guidance as the result is decided by the public.
"Only for guidance so Jane's mark doesn't count!" joked Chris.
Viewers also took issue with the remarks, as one tweeted: "Ummm with Sonny’s skate, aren’t Jayne and Chris marking the skating and the others judging the performance?"
Someone tell me how the hell Sonny Jay got 9.5 from Jayne & Colin got 10? Jayne’s reasoning as to how she give SJ a 9.5 is b******t tbh" ranted another.
"Honestly I didn’t think that was worth tens, especially as Jayne was so harsh on Sonny for a “performance” issue when Colin had actual technical issues # dancingonice " added a third.
