Doherty, Davies, Scarlett - Latest Tottenham team news and injury updates ahead of Everton clash

Tottenham are preparing to face Everton in a crucial clash this evening as they look to secure European football ahead of next season.

Jose Mourinho's men are currently seventh in the Premier League, three points behind Liverpool in sixth and as many as six points off the top four.

Meanwhile, Everton are just one point behind Spurs and with a game in-hand, meaning Mourinho's men will need a win to take their fate back into their own hands, at least as far as staying above the Toffees are concerned.

Tottenham head into this one having gone two games without a win, losing to Manchester United last time out after drawing with strugglers Newcastle United.

They will be desperate to put on a much better showing this time out in a potentially defining clash in their bid to secure European football.

And ahead of the game, we have rounded up all the latest injury news.

Matt Doherty

Speaking about Doherty and Ben Davies in his press conference, Mourinho said: "Doherty and Davies out. Let's say the first team players, everything the same."

On Doherty, the Spurs boss added: "It’s risky to say. Matt Doherty did the warm up with us so if you saw the pictures, it was just the warm-up and immediately went to sports science for individual work.

"He’s not ready for tomorrow, he's not ready but he’s coming."

Ben Davies

Davies is also out for this one and it seems the Welshman will remain out for some time.

"Ben Davies not even close to that," Mourinho added. "But I’d say after 51 matches or so, in the last couple of months of the season to arrive in this situation with only two players injured, I would say we cannot complain because the work has been good and the squad as a whole is in good condition."

Dane Scarlett

Youngster Dane Scarlett is also missing currently due to an injury he picked up on duty with the Spurs development side.

"Dane Scarlett that I can consider a first team player because he's working with us every day got injured, in the youth cup match," Mourinho said.

"He will not be available for a couple of weeks, maybe."
