Four stray dogs that had been trapped in a gap between two homes for at least seven hours have finally been rescued.
The black pooches were stacked on top of each other and were not able to move with their backs against the ground.
Supatrawadi Chanthanan, 43, heard the animals whining beside the building when she opened her shop yesterday on Tuesday morning in Buriram, northeastern Thailand.
Her neighbour, Pathumrat Chaipan, 46, was also alerted by the noise and the pair decided to call for animal rescue services.
Pathumrat said: "I first heard them at 2am but I thought they were dogs from a house nearby, so I didn't pay attention and went back to bed.

"But I still heard them and again when I woke up in the morning.
"And that was when Supatrawadi rang my doorbell and asked if I also heard some animals crying out in pain."
Mobile phone footage showed the dogs whimpering for help as they became stuck between walls.

The gap is too narrow for adults to get in as it measures only about 20cm (7.9in) wide.
Rescue workers from the Siam Ruam Jai Pu-In foundation had to user a make-shift dog catcher pole in order to hook the dogs' legs before pulling them up.
The dogs were terrified as they were being lifted out of the small gap.

One of them bit a rescuer on the hand and dashed off as soon as it was freed.
It took the team about an hour to free the dogs, which all aged about five months old.
Rescuers also some food and water by the sidewalk for the dogs.

Residents in the Nang Rong district said the dogs were part of a pack of harmless strays which were looking for food in the area.
They believed one of the neighbours got annoyed and slung them in the gap and left them to die.
Pathumrat said: "It was unusual to see all of them stuck inside with their legs up in the air. Because if they went inside and were stuck there by themselves, they should be in a crouching position.
"It was like someone intentionally carried them and put them down into the hole. We would like the authorities to look for the person and charged them with animal cruelty for the torture."
