Dogs' Daniel cops one-week ban for tackle

The Bulldogs' Caleb Daniel is set to miss a week of AFL through suspension. (AAP)

Western Bulldogs defender Caleb Daniel has been slapped with a one-match ban for a dangerous tackle on Brisbane's Thomas Berry.

Daniel slammed Berry to the ground in a tackle in the first quarter of the Bulldogs' win over the Lions at Ballarat's Mars Stadium.

The match review panel charged Daniel with engaging in rough conduct (dangerous tackle), assessing the incident as careless conduct with medium impact and high contact.

If he accepts the suspension, Daniel will miss Saturday's game against Gold Coast.

The half-back has averaged 23 touches a game in the Bulldogs' unbeaten start to the season.

Meanwhile Brisbane's Mitch Robinson was offered a $1000 fine for misconduct on Bulldogs midfielder Josh Dunkley.
