Dog owners and their pooches turned up in their droves for the ‘Super Thursday’ elections on Thursday with a star appearance from Mrs Thatcher’s canine namesake.
Voters in England, Scotland and Wales will elect councillors, mayors, police commissioners and one MP to power in the largest test of political opinion outside a general election.
Mayoral candidate Sadiq Khan accompanied his wife Saadiya and dog Luna to the polling station at St Albans Church in south London.
Actor and musician Laurence Fox, running for London mayor, also appeared with furry pals to cast his vote in Vauxhall, south London.
The Reform Party founder was pictured with his dogs Blaze, Sparky and Mrs Thatcher outside the venue.

Meanwhile Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon made an appearance in Glasgow where she was seen greeting a voters’ pet dog.
Among the dogs at polling stations attracting the most attention was a sausage dog called Roy pictured in a bright red bow tie.
The six-month-old dachshund pup was dressed in formal voting attire at a polling station in Stoke Newington, north London.
In Dulwich Village, London, a group of nine dogs were spotted outside a polling station.
Four-month-old puppy Bertie joined the dogs-in-polling-stations trend for the first time.
Animals are not usually allowed in polling stations unless they are assistance dogs.
However, thousands of voters have shared photos of their dogs in recent years using the hashtag #DogsAtPollingStations.
