As the country takes to the polls to vote in today's General Election, a number of Edinburgh and the Lothians locals are taking along their pets.
In the midst of election stress the one thing people can look forward to is the hashtag #dogsatpollingstations going viral again on Twitter as thousands of dog lovers across the country share pictures of their pooches as they go to vote.
It's a novel way to brighten up the day for those feeling a little dis-heartened with elections or suffering from voter fatigue.
All manners of breeds, ages, shapes and sizes of pooches have already been spotted across Edinburgh and the Lothians - from tiny Labrador puppies to beagles and Greyhounds.
