Doggy fun day at Nottinghamshire pub will have cake, games, raffles and pools for pet pooches

A Notts pub is pulling out all the stops to give pet pooches a fun day out with lots of canine treats in store.

The Dapper Spaniel is staging the event to celebrate the tenth birthday of the owners' dog Archie - the handsome springer spaniel who was the inspiration for the gastro pub.

The fun will start at noon on Saturday June 22 at the dog-friendly gastro pub in Rolleston. Owners Karl Tyler and his partner Kat Galvin said: "The Dapper Spaniel himself is turning 10 years old and wants all his canine and human friends to help him celebrate!

"We will be hosting a fun-filled afternoon of games, activities, treats and raffle prize draws for our canine guests."

When the pooches get peckish they can chomp on dog-friendly birthday cake and cupcakes. Their owners haven't been overlooked - there will be a BBQ menu if they're hungry.

Customers will be asked for a minimum donation of £2 per dog, with all the proceeds going to the Grey Muzzle Canine Hospice Project which helps provide end of life care and loving homes for abandoned dogs.
