Dog with dinosaur best friend needs home - but won't leave teddy behind

A "cheeky" dog who has developed an adorable bond with a dinosaur is desperate for a home where he can snuggle his teddy all day long.

Larry, a three-year-old pug cross, has been described as a "sweet and sensitive" chap who is obsessed with his green plush toy.

He is currently being cared for by the rescue team at Dogs Trust Bridgend in Wales and hopes to find a family with lots of love to give.

But this happy homeless dog comes as a package deal - as he won't leave his dinosaur buddy behind.

A Twitter post on the centre's account reads: "We all think Larry is Dino-mite. Larry is a cheeky character and is looking for a home who will give him lots of time and space to settle in.

"FYI - dinosaur comes free with Larry!"

Larry is looking for a quiet, adult-only home with preferably one owner who has experience with worried dogs.

He would ideally like to be the only dog in the home and have parents all to himself - but he is a "sociable boy" and would enjoy doggy play dates.

He can be left for a few hours with breaks throughout the day, and he is house trained. Staff are unsure if he could live with cats and small animals.

This playful pug will need his own, private secure garden and place to play with all of his favourite toys.

He is hoping to find a loving family in Wales (Dogs Trust)

Larry gets worried over intense handling so potential adopters will need to be willing to give him a hands-off approach and go at his pace.

He travels well in a car and would love to experience new adventures and explore different places with his new family.

His ideal home would need to be within a reasonable distance from the centre to allow for multiple visits.

If you think you could be Larry's perfect match - and have room for his dino - please apply on Dogs Trust website.

Another sweet dog looking for a forever home is one-year-old Staffy cross Rita, who lived outside alone for six months.

She was abandoned in "horrendous conditions" with no food or water and relied solely on kind neighbours to feed her.

Rita was hungry, thirsty and "begging for attention" when staff at Carla Lane Animals in Need in Liverpool were called to rescue her.

Despite being overwhelmed with calls and bills, the immediately cleared emergency boarding space to take her in, because she was "absolutely not safe" to be left.

Now, Rita is safe and thriving and looking for a dedicated family with home comforts.
